Hi TGAP, I am a Wife, Daughter, Big & Lil Sister, Singer/Songwriter, Co-Owner of Melodic Latte Cafe (a coffee franchise), & an all around Entrepreneurial Artist
TGAP: When did you realize that you had been gifted with the talent and the assignment to sing?
MAHOGANEE: I realized in Middle School, 6th grade that I absolutely loved singing more than anything else in the world.
TGAP: What inspires you as an artist? What was the inspiration for your new CD 'The Chrysalis Stage'?
MAHOGANEE: I am inspired by my parents, my big sister, people who continuously and tirelessly follow their dreams, my husband who is incredibly talented and creative and never ceases to amaze or surprise me. The inspiration for "The Chrysalis Stage" my 3rd studio album, was a shift in my life and where it was going. I felt that I was literally coming into my own as an artist and truly spreading my wings vocally as well as lyrically. I have always loved butterflies and what they represent and it just seemed fitting because I am a black butterfly.
TGAP: Your organization 'Responsible ARTistry'.... Tell us more.
MAHOGANEE: Responsible ARTistry is a Campaign started by my husband and I & it is Using our influence as Artist to enhance and save lives through our music and community efforts. It's being responsible for the youth & our communities by providing good music, events and collaborations.
TGAP: What challenges if any have you faced as a artist?
MAHOGANEE: Challenges are defined as a call or summons to engage in any contest, as of skill and strength. My view of life is to choose which frequency to be on and I choose a positive one with a positive attitude. So, even when I'm dealt situations (small or large challenges) that may seem to be a big issue to someone else, because of my Belief and Vision I deal with them and move onward and upward. Any challenge is an opportunity to win, overcome and succeed.
TGAP: What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
MAHOGANEE: Once you realize your talent/niche/gift, stay determined, focused and always continue to set goals. Get your VISION board together and in a visible place where it's the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night. Read "Think & Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill | "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne | "The Magic of Believing" by Claude M. Bristol..... ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST (Surround yourself with people who are like-minded & goal oriented as well. Find people who are doing what it is you want to do or be and follow their example)

AllSpice-
is a spice that is the dried unripe fruit ("berries") of Pimenta dioica , a mid-canopy tree native to the Greater Antilles, southern Mexico and Central America, now cultivated in many warm parts of the world.[2] The name "allspice" was coined as early as 1621 by the English, who thought it combined the flavour of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
